Geometric Galaxy Nail Art ~ Born Pretty Store

Hey all,  This nail art how to is for these lovely summery festival inspired Galaxy nails! For this you will need:

  • OPI natural nail base coat
  • White polish (China glaze white on white)
  • Galaxy water decals (STZ-275 in my case)
  • Born pretty store geometric water decals (item no. #30404 buy Here!
  • Clear polish
  • Small bowl of water
  • Tweezers
  • Your favourite top coat
  • Silver studs

Step one:

Apply one coat of base coat to all nails followed by one coat of your white polish to serve as a base to brighten the water decals. This doesn’t need to be perfectly opaque or even as it’s simply a base. Allow this to dry 100% before moving to step two.

Step two:

Cut out the Galaxy water decals from the sheet and place the first finger decal into the water, let it soak for around 15 seconds and then pick up out the water using the tweezers. Slide the decal off of the backing and place onto the nail, use a cotton pad to remove excess water allowing the water decal to stick to the nail.

Step three:

Using acetone and a cleanup brush remove excess water decal and cleanup any mess. Apply a layer of clear polish and run a toothpick or dotting tool round the edge to do any final cleanup.

Step four:

Repeat steps two and three for all nails, then move onto step five.

Step five:

Cut out the geometric decals off of the sheet that you want to use. Place each one in turn in the water and then apply the decal to the nail. Leave to dry and move onto the next one.

Step five:

Once all nails have an added geometric decal on top add a layer of top coat. Whilst this is wet add the silver studd at the top of the ring nail. And you’re done!
